De Quervains Tenosynovitis Syndrome
De Quervains syndrome has many other names such as gamers thumb, washwoman’s thumb, and joystick thumb to name a few. De Quervains is an overuse injury of the thumb. It is typically due to excessive “wringing” motions. It is more commonly seen in women. Some signs of De Quervians include a weakened grip and thumb pain.
How can Natural Health Chiropractic help? The use of gentle wrist mobilizations will help prevent a loss of range of motion. Instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy can decrease the formation of scar tissue and promote healing. Acupuncture can assist with the management of pain and support healing. Rehabilitation can strengthen the muscles, stretching can lengthen and relax tight muscles which will reduce the occurrence of re-injury. These are just a few of the ways that Dr. Falkner can help.
